Some blogs I always keep an eye on in my RSS Reader:
Big Time Fancy – I’m a sucker for girls who blog about their self-destructive behaviors, particularly those who despite brazenly broadcasting their drunken sexual misadventures also manage to squeeze in a little self-reflection, a little personal tragedy, a little depth and wistfulness amidst all the revelry and self-aware debasement. Tragically beautiful, that sort of thing.
Weird Meat – Stories about consuming animals and parts of animals that by all rights should never be eaten. Sickening, stomach-turning, and appetite-ruining – but also amazing and addictive and utterly (heh) engrossing.
Diana Kimball – She writes such engagingly guileless, earnest prose, it makes you want to gather like-minded friends and form a human wall around her to shield her at all times from all the shittness in the world, Holden Caulfield-style, so that she won’t ever fall into the trap of cynical, smirking indulgence that so often passes for personal writing now.
Teeth Teeth Teeth – I have no idea who these kids are, or where they live, or what they do, but they have an amazing house and they take incredible photos of themselves living an almost cartoonishly alternative lifestyle.
Stuff Asian People Life – So it’s not the most unique idea ever, but this blog makes me laugh out loud more than once a week, usually to the utter befuddlement of my coworkers.
And last but not least, the host of Wait, Wait.. Don’t Tell Me!…Peter Sagal!
