Discovered today that the commute that I had always assumed would take the longest, the one that meanders through some of the most crowded Northside neighborhoods in Chicago, is actually significantly faster than the expressway, by almost 15 minutes.
The odds are about even that I will buy this bike within the next week.
My photo was in the paper, featured in an article about bike commuting in Chicago. I was part of the queue lined up outside Working Bikes, the local used-bike co-op, last Wednesday. Except I’m the guy sitting on the ground, stuffing my face with White Castle. Oh well.
